Dan Zanes Rocked the House!

We took the kids to see Dan Zanes and Friends in concert yesterday. Our friends Kim and Igor joined us with their daughter Iris and our friends Lisa and Lewis with their daughter Alina. Alina, who is just barely a year old, danced the whole time -- she is so cute! And Iris and Sofia really hit it off, although they were both a little shy at first. Iris is an adorable 3 years old. Kim was telling me they were late because Iris was not happy with the outfit Mom picked out, and Kim thought perhaps they should hire a stylist for her daughter to pitch fits at. They are TOO funny! I have a feeling this is where I am headed with my daughter!

Sofia and Iris were both showing off some awesome dance moves before too long. Sofia was "CARED" at first though --translation: scared of the music. She's going through a scaredy-cat phase -- is afraid of everything! Phillip, Stephen's dad, popped in for a visit on his way to New York on his motorcycle, and it was great to see him. For the first evening he was here, Sofia was scared of him. It was the motorcycle that scared her, which is funny, because it's a BMW and MUCH quieter than our Harley. Sofia thinks Cooby-Doo is cary; so is Pider-Man and any of Gabe's toys that make noise.

So I spent much of the show dancing with Sofia in my arms. Eventually, she warmed up. If you don't know who Dan Zanes is, I highly recommend any of his CDs. His music is fun, fun, fun! And definitely not just for kids. http://danzanes.com/pages/news.php His latest is called Nueva York and he refers to it as his pro-immigration CD. I love Dan Zanes!
