Overheard on a recent trip to the grocery store:
Gabe: Mom, can we get this cereal (pointing to Apple Jacks)?
Me: No, hon, those are bad for you.
Sofia: And you'll die if you eat that cereal?
Random stranger (laughing): Yes, at age 40, you will die if you eat Apple Jacks now.
Me (laughing too): No, Fia, we won't die. It's just not the best cereal for us to eat.
Sofia: But Daddy gets that for us.
Me (pointing to Kashi's Honey Almond Flax and clearly dodging her point): Hey guys, what about this cereal?
Gabe (loud as can be): Ew, Mom, that cereal makes me go number two!
Many random strangers began laughing at my children. Seriously, God sent me little comedians, I kid you not. I should know. My son talks to God, after all.
On Sunday, we took the kids to see a matinee at the world's coolest movie theater: Arlington's Cinema 'n Drafthouse. Cheap tickets, cheap food and drinks, rad retro atmosphere. Anyway, we saw Madagascar 2, which was hilarious until....later that night, I was changing and Sofia said, "Hey, Mom, I see your butt-butt! I see your HIPPO butt-butt!" And the kids just starting roaring laughing. I have to admit I laughed too. I know I don't have a hippo butt and the scenes with the hippos were some of my favorites. Of course I also loved the penguins, the monkeys, the giraffe...what didn't I love about that movie? If you haven't seen it, add it to your queue. :)
Tonight our darling daughter took a bra out of my drawer and waltzed into the room, exclaiming, "Look at my big boobies!" She was wearing my bra and feeling "her big boobies." We all collapsed into giggles.
Good night everyone. The songs from Madagascar 2 are contagious. Look out. For days, you will be singing, "I like to move it, move it. We like to move it. Yeah, party, party in the house."

I just keep saying the same thing, that your kids are hilarious. I love these stories.
I want to see the movie- and I don't like animated films for the most part. Oooh, fruit loops- I haven't had them in years. And I'm with Gabe on the flax crapola... :)
