Sofia the Ham and Gabe the Instigator

This morning I heard a really loud crash downstairs, and I ran downstairs to find that Clyde (one of our kittens) had knocked a glass Galileo thermometer off the mantle. The kids came down moments later and I asked them to stay on the stairs while I cleaned up the glass and the "bad chemicals." Sofia said, "Hey Mom, it's kinda like an Easter egg hunt for glass and bad chemicals." haha! She also asked if she could call dad on the way to school. I heard her say, "Now dad, I don't want you to be mad when you get home from work today. The kitty did something bad. But it will be okay, dad." Oh, she's so cute.

This afternoon, Gabe was playing with his Pinocchio marionette and Sofia started dancing with Pinocchio. I wish we had video, but it was essentially Sofia doing her best marionette impression. She kinda looked like an orangutan swinging her arms from side to side. Hilarious!

Oh, and I shared this on Facebook, but this cracked me up too. After watching Jessica's affirmation video [], Sofia sheepishly asked, "Umm, Mom, can I get up on the bathroom counter?" She must think I'm the meanest mom ever. LOL! I explained that our little tiny pedestal sink isn't an easy surface to stand on.

Another funny Sofia story from recent days is that she turned to me and said, "Mom, do you know what I just realized?" Then, she proceeded to inform me, "When I was little, I used to say 'free' when I actually meant THREE.'" I said, "Oh, that's true! You're SO smart now." She knows everything at age four. Just for the record. ;)

I don't have any funny Gabe stories to share, beyond that he has taken to trying to get his sister in trouble. And it's only funny in private when I consider that all older siblings probably try that out to examine the power they wield. :) He told her she should paint the wall with Mom's lipstick the other day, for example. And she listened. So they both had to help me clean up. Gabe has been busy reading stories to me, like Jumanji and the Flat Stanley books. His reading speed seems to improve all the time. Oh, and his class went to see Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems at the Kennedy Center. I was incredibly envious. It's one of my favorite books, but I got stuck at work. :( My favorite part of every day by a long shot is reading with the kids at bedtime. I'll be so heartbroken the day they decide they don't want to read with mommy anymore.

Lila tov everyone!
