As we were tucking her in and saying "good night" this evening, Sofia asked, "When is Christmas coming? For Christmas, I want a white dress that goes all the way down to my toes, white high heels and a white thing that goes over my head." [I'm stunned speechless thinking, "OMG."] Tim said, "You want a wedding dress? Who are you planning to marry?" And, she said, "You Dad." awwww!
And when Tim picked her up from daycare today, she got really upset as she explained part of her day. She said, "Max said that when you go to the hospital to have a baby, they make a hole in your belly. I don't want a hole in my belly, but I want a baby." Gabe tried to reassure her with this line of logic, "Max shouldn't be talking about stuff that he doesn't know for sure. Sometimes you have to have a hole in your belly and sometimes you don't. And you can also just go to the baby store and pick out a baby out of a box, Sofia. That's called getting an adoption." Holy cow. I have no idea where kids get these things. I can only imagine that they're repeating things their parents have said. Maybe the hole in the belly was Max's mom's way of telling him about a C-section. But where Gabe dreamt up babies in boxes? Your guess is as good as mine!

Kristinn, two more great stories!
Christmas before last when we went to NYC and visited FAO Swartz they had a really cute doll department. It was made to look like a hospital baby nursery with the clear basinets like in hospitals, sales clerks wore nurses uniforms and children would "adopt" their dolls rather than buy them. Maybe that's where Gabe got his concept of adopting babies (or not!). Love, Nanni xoxoxo
I love that the adopted babies come in boxes. That's priceless. :)
