Holla!

Halloween 2010: Super Girl and Storm Shadow (a GI Joe character) -- Sofia was Barbie Thumbelina on Friday, a punkrocker on Saturday, and Super Girl last night. That's my girl! Constantly changing outfits! Tim decided Gabe's old enough to play with his GI Joes, which he saved from when he was a kid, along with all the files for them and weapon specs and all kinds of stuff I never knew he still had. Tim spent a couple of nights replacing O-rings in the various joints because they weren't so moveable anymore. Gabe's thrilled!

This morning in the car, Sofia said, "Mom, you say 'Holla'." So I said, "Holla!" And she said, "WEEN!" And she asked me to do that over and over again. I cracked up. She responded, "Now that's one for the blog."

The kids had a great time trick or treating last night with their friends Anna, Luca, Lilly, and Giovanni.

On another note, each Friday, Sofia takes in a toy for "show and tell" that begins with whatever letter they happen to be working on that week. This week, they're working on the letter "N." I was trying to get the conversation started with, "What about some of your Fancy Nancy stuff? That sorta starts with N. Or Nemo? Do we have a stuffed Nemo doll somewhere or a Finding Nemo book?" Gabe piped up with, "How about noodles?" I said, "Yeah, noodles could work." I said low enough that I thought only Tim could hear, "Guess you can't take nincompoop." Bat-eared Gabe said, "You can't take nincompoop, but you could take NINJA POOP!" Tim roared with laughter. I guess the potty humor will never get old. ;) Sofia, with her typical sweet manner, said, "I could take Gabe! I'll take Gabe dressed up like a ninja!"

I guess because of election day, Gabe doesn't have school tomorrow. So, he and Sofia are over at Camp Jungkeit for the evening (our friends Alexandria and Jeremy). Totally awesome to have a quiet night here. Hopefully they'll let us return the favor soon! Thanks guys!!!
