Why a blog?
A recent email from my sister Jordan brought tears to my eyes because she was talking about how sad it is that she's missing out on her nephew and niece growing up. We feel the same way, sad to be so far from lots of family members and friends. I thought a blog might be a good way to write something really brief about the kids as often as I can and post photos every now and again too. With today's technology, there are even ways to take photos from your phone and upload them to your blog....it may take me a few tries to figure that out, but I'll give it a shot. Maybe using the Web this way will make the distance between us seem much, much smaller.

Good for you, Kristinn! It really can be a lot of fun. I started one almost two years ago, and then I added one last year for photos - just a photo (nearly) every day and a few words about it---in Irish. (it's practice, and it's sanctioned by my teacher) Blogger has added support for more languages, so today I figured out how to make the dates appear in Irish.
