Gabe Turns 5!

Well, on Sunday, my baby boy turned 5! Can you believe it?! I know I can't. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and gifts and left singing voicemail messages and to Nanni and Aunt Kathy who drove up from Tampa and Uncle David and Aunt Amy who drove from Detroit with Isabela. We feel really lucky and blessed to have such loving family members and friends. I think the pictures say it all, so I'll just add the pictures now. Wait, who am I kidding? First, I just HAVE to add a few anecdotes from the weekend.

1.) Tim was teasing me about something and I said, "Oh, you're such a..." and I was fumbling for the precise word to use in the moment when Gabe piped up with, "Don't say it Mom, not in front of me." OMG! He is too smart for words. (For the record, though, I was not about to curse. :) )

2.) Sofia now insists that everyone call her "Alicia." We finally figured out that it's because she apparently loves Diego's sister Alicia. (Diego is Dora's cousin -- both of whom are bilingual cartoon characters for those of you without kids and living in a cave -- *just kidding!*)

3.) Aunt Kathy told Gabriel his father's caca balls story so that Gabe would fall asleep, and Gabe was too grossed out to sleep. But the next day (and the next), he asked her to retell the "caca ball" story. It's probably a good point now to turn to the pictures! :D
