Bottling kids' laughter....if only!

Our bedtime routine every night is the same. Tim prepares dinner while I get the kids ready for bed. (YAY for hunky men who can cook!) We eat dinner together and then we lay in bed and read books by nightlight. Because it's a twin bunkbed, I lay in the middle, sandwiched by Gabe and Sofia. Tim lays on the floor and listens to me read to the kids, and occasionally reads to them too. More often than not, he's snoring by the time I'm done reading, which is hilarious. What's even funnier is when I doze off while I'm attempting to read to them! After we read, it's "horsies" time (Mom will get that reference), lights out, and we lay together for 5 minutes before Tim & I head downstairs. Sofia is adorable because while I'm reading their books, she alternates between laying with me and then laying with her daddy. It's as if she doesn't want to be accused of playing favorites because she spends about 2 minutes with me and then about 2 minutes with her dad, over and over again -- she switches back & forth. :)

Well, last night, Sofia had just climbed back into bed with me and Gabe, and everyone was almost asleep when Sofia reached over, grabbed my nose and softly said, "Honk, honk." I started giggling, Gabe started giggling, Sofia started, and before you knew it, Tim was laughing without even really knowing why. We were all laughing and couldn't stop. Sometimes I wish I could bottle that kind of uncontrollable and contagious laughter, so I could unleash it on friends and colleagues when they're feeling blue...wouldn't that be an awesome power to have?! :)
