This morning, we had a playdate with my friend Lisa and Lewis and their adorable daughter Alina. We went back to the super-big, lots-of-fun park known as Clemyjontri. Gabe had a blast getting Alina to chase him. All 3 kids ran out a bunch of energy and then we all went to lunch together -- recipe for fabulous naps and early bedtimes!
Then we went to Holly's youngest daughter Ariela's fourth birthday party. She had an Angelina Ballerina birthday party and even had an instructor on-site to lead the kids in some ballet. Gabe joined in, which was hilariously cute. Even better was when he'd look at me and say, "nuh-uh, I'm not doing that" -- usually when they were raising a leg and pointing it one direction or another. Very funny. Sofia, who is usually shy on Saturday mornings during ballet class, did much better with big brother at her side. Tim & I were actually able to watch from the window outside of the classroom. Most Saturday mornings, Sofia insists that I stay right by her side and that I do "ballelet" with her. :D So, it was a nice change to be able to watch her at a distance.
We had a fabulous day today. I LOVE it when the kids tell us as they did today, "Mom, I had a lot of fun today!" and "We are really lucky because we got to do three fun things today!"
