I meant to say a thing or two about our actual Halloween night. This year we decided to do something different and we partied at our friends' Alexandria & Jeremy's place. They go all out with the Halloween decorations and Alex did an Oktoberfest-style meal that was scrumptious. She says the Germans don't know what they're doing with food (she's Italian), but I wholeheartedly disagree -- must be the German heritage! :D
Anyway, the kids made it trick-or-treating to just a few houses before pieces of their costumes began to come off. "Mom, can you hold this?" "Mom, this is heavy." "Mom, this is hurting my finger." I wish I had a picture of me carrying Sofia's crown and wand, Gabe's sword and armor because that would best illustrate the evening. The kids made it a full block before they were ready to go back to the house. That was it. I felt like a disappointed kid. I got dressed up for this? One block. I guess as they get older, Halloween will become more and more exciting and they'll have more stamina. For this year, the upshot is my house isn't overflowing with candy! :D And the above photo was my favorite pic of the evening...

A pic of you wearing all their kit would have been the perfect costume! Xena, Warrior Fairy Princess. :)
